These photos were taken between September 2012 and March 2013 when I was based in New Delhi for work. I had a fantastic experience that I just haven’t had time to blog so on this occasion I’ve just let these 480 photos do the talking. There are plenty more I could put up! Here are my best tips for Delihi, in particular Connaught Place (CP), that I recently wrote up for a friend.

Zaffran is my favourite North Indian restaurant in CP. Top notch food at mid-range prices.
Saravana Bhavan has the best dosas and thalis in town. There’s a branch in CP too but it’s not as good. One of my favourite places in the world.
The thali at Rajdhani is an experience too. It’s pretty good, and huge with twenty plus components! Sagar Ratna also do a good thali.
Pind Balluchi is a very popular mid-range North Indian restaurant.
Delicious takeaway khati kebabs from Nizam’s.
Veda is a beautiful bar. They make the best margarita in town and the modern Indian food is ok too.
The terrace at Q’Ba has a great view over CP for a daytime beer.
Staff canteens at government offices are good deals. The all-you-can-eat thali Andrah Pradesh Bhawan is the best, very cheap and very popular.
Colonial splendour, cocktails and a good pot of tea can be found at the Imperial Hotel.
The top floor bar at the opulent Hotel Le Meridien has a good view over Rajpath and the parliament. Their high end restaurant is good too.
Something interesting to see near CP is the Jantar Mantar outdoor observatory (free entry).
Elsewhere, Bukhara in the ITC Maurya Hotel is a very famous high end restaurant.
At the other end of the scale, Karim’s in the old town is very famous and an experience. A good place to go after a visit to the Red Fort maybe.
For homewares, Good Earth at Khan Market has lots of beautiful local goods. Most of the international restaurants in the rest of the market are okay too.
Latitude 28, the Italian cafe restaurant above the shop is pretty good should you need a buffalo spag bol and a decent glass of red.
Also Sakura in the Hotel Metropolitan does authentic Japanese set meals if you want a change.
Gung The Palace is a good, authentic Korean restaurant, but it’s a metro ride away from CP.
Wenger’s Deli (around the corner from their cake shop) is ok should you feel the need for a takeaway Western snack in the daytime .
